Do you need some help figuring out new ways to market your dental practice? Dental marketing is becoming more and more important as dental practices compete for patients.

One of the best ways to market your dental practice is online, because lots of people will browse the websites of local doctors and dentists before they call to make an appointment.

Here are five tips for dental marketing online.

1. Have a great website — One of the things that draw patients to your practice is your website. Your website should be easy to navigate and it should load quickly. Don’t load your website with lots of fancy graphics because some users might be on slow Internet connections and a lot of graphics will make the load really slowly. Keep the site design simple and functional.

2. Live help — Have a customer service rep dedicated to answering questions online. Use a free chat application to have a customer service rep available to answer questions from users. This can be an immensely helpful feature that your potential customers will love.

They can ask questions about price, appointment times and other concerns that they have without having to take the time to phone the office. You can get a lot of new patients for the cost of a customer service rep’s salary.

3. List your prices on your website — Most people that don’t have dental insurance will be most concerned about the price of procedures. Clearly list the base price for common procedures and also list payment options, the types of insurance that you accept, and payment plans if you allow payment plans.

4. Give readers information about your practice — Potential patients will want to know a bit about the dentists at the practice and their credentials before they make an appointment. Have photos of the staff and bios listing their credentials on the website to give people a little background on the doctors and staff before they come in.

5. Search engine optimize your website — Adding informational articles about common dental practices and dental issues that are search engine optimized will serve two purposes. It will help your website get a higher search engine ranking and it will give the people reading the website helpful information that will keep them coming back to your website.

It’s important to have a high search engine ranking so that when people who are looking for a dental practice in your area do an Internet search for a dentist your website will come up on the first page of search engine results. The articles will help get people to the website through the search engines.

In this era, going online plays a big role in the dental marketing niche. One of the things that we’re finding is that if you are going to look at the amount of people who are going online, searching for their service providers (like on yahoo, on google, and on all the other major search engines), you can see that the population of the people going online to search for their dental providers is growing more and more. The Internet is having a great impact in dental marketing. Dental marketing online is becoming a growing trend in the niche of dental marketing today. Let’s talk about “market-matching” and getting the traffic online.

On “Market-Matching”:

With your dental website, you need to make sure that there will be a lot of visitors coming in to your site. Do your best to make your web page on top of the list among the search engines. In dental marketing online, if you are not on the first page in google, or yahoo, or in any other major search engines, then you are losing an extraordinary amount of “traffic” that could be coming your way. By traffic, I mean the flow of people visiting your web page; warm-blooded people who are looking for somebody to go to, to choose their dental provider. And especially with your niche businesses and services (like your implants, cosmetic dentistry, TMJ, sleep, sedation, etc.), a lot of these niches calls a need for you to come up with better messages to “market-match” when people come to your web page. Take for example, when people come to your web page and they’re looking for headache relief, and all they see is cosmetic dentistry, then they’re going to go somebody else who when they go to that web page all it talks about is TMJ, and because it’s a message to market-match. Always have the proper market-matching message for your web page.

Getting The Traffic:

As you go with dental marketing online, ask yourself, “ How many websites are directing traffic to my existing web page?” As we optimize our web pages, we have hundreds of links and different web pages sending them new traffic from about every imaginable angle, key word, and imaginable town around their area. Our objective is to dominate all of those pieces. Now I ask you: “What are you doing right now to get search engine traffic?”. If you’re not doing anything then go ahead and sign up for our free report and we’ll send you the information and we’ll support you and do free consultation to make sure you get your questions answered. Remember, this is the time to take action and time to get some free organic and natural search engines to your web page!.

Once you get this thing up and running, just imagine having 3 to 10 new patients coming to your practice, every other day, and every other week, just from the search engine alone. And this amazes me! It’s your biggest opportunity right now in this time that we’re in to get great traffic from your patients. Time to go for success in your dental marketing online business!

In the previous article, dental marketing online adviser Ed O’ Keefe has discussed to you the first three steps on getting rich. In this article, dental marketing online adviser will give you the last three steps on getting rich in your practice/business. This is something that the dental marketing online adviser focus specifically at their dental marketing website! Also, the dental marketing online adviser will discuss to you each of these final three steps.

The last three steps in getting rich in your business:

Identify Your CLF

As a dental marketing online adviser, I want you to look at your CLF. CLF means your Critical Limiting Factor. So I have this goal and I have this end result that I want. I have identified some action steps. And by now, if you’re taking action you will have experienced a couple of challenges. And that’s a good thing! Those challenges are going to be the raw material that we convert into and transform into the actual knowledge, habits, attitudes, every action steps that we act on to accomplish the next goal. So what you’re going to do now is that you’re going to stop and ask yourself this question: “Out of all these things, what is the one thing that if I remove it out of my way, or if I learned this one skill set, would open up the flood gates to allow me to accomplish my goals at a much faster rate?” Now when you’ve identified that certain CLF in your life, it might be a habit or anything that hinders you. The thing that you have to realize is that through this process, you are planting seeds along the way.

Creating The Discipline Of Constant Education Of Specialized Knowledge

As a dental marketing online adviser, I want you to think about this: “What is my Critical Limiting Factor and what is the knowledge that I need to acquire?”. And then now we want to create a gameplan and a discipline of minimally one hour a week to use focus and educate yourself on that specific topic. Now if you’re more aggressive like myself, minimally you can have 30 minutes a day on that topic. And then you’ll be amazed with the results! You can turn your driving time into learning time. You can turn your morning breakfast coffee or your evening before you go to bed into those preparation time so that you can really make the most out of each and every day and move forward into becoming what we could call a top 1 percenter!

Know Where Your Cash Cow Is

As a dental marketing online adviser, I want you to look at these things. First of all you want to know from a casual perspective how much money you have in all your bank accounts almost everyday. For me, I get a report everyday from my bookkeeper that tells me in each bank account how much cash is in it. And she also lets me know what’s my credit card balance on any credit cards that we use on our companies. So that allows me to know some of my debt with the credit cards, it allows me to know all my cash flow, and I also want to know when payroll’s hitting. And I know what the average is every payroll period, so thats okay. And then the other thing I want to know is what my accounts payable and my accounts receivable are. So in my business, we don’t have much accounts receivable because we get our money upfront or its on a monthly continuity. But in a lot of businesses, if your receivable is too high, that’s one of the reasons why your cash is so tight. So one way that you can immediately shift that around is to discount payments if you will pay totally in full, force people to pre-pay, and there’s a lot of strategies you can do that. The other thing is that I want to know what my accounts payable are. And mentally you should have a ratio inside your head. I’m not going to tell you what the perfect ratio is to cash in the bank and payables, but you should know what that is with your business just by monitoring on daily basis where you need to sit on your checkbook and drive revenues, or you can start paying your payables down. The one thing that I will tell you about all your payables though is that if you can go or if you are struggling with cash flow, call your vendors up and ask them if you can extend your payments 15 days. So if your currently doing 30 days ask them if you can do 45 days (in some companies you’re going to be able to get 60 days). If there is a company that expects you to pay immediately, ask them if you can get 30 days or 15 days minimally. Probably half of them are going to say yes, and half of them are going to say they don’t have those procedures and you can speak to a manager or deal with them directly. The last thing that I want to share with you is that when cash flow is tight, you have to focus on generating revenue! That is how you improve your cash flow. And so you might have to spend money in marketing, or sales, or any kind of revenue-generating activities; or if you don’t have money you get to do sweat equity. But you don’t sit on those expenses, you drive those things up! And you look at what are the expenses you are currently spending and you start slashing those expenses. The one thing that I want you to take away from is most importantly monitoring your cash flow on a daily basis, or weekly basis minimally, know what your bills are, know what’s in your bank account, know what’s coming up, and make sure that you are paying your taxes orderly (estimate the taxes so that you don’t get “killed” the next year). Now, with all that said the most important thing that you should remember is that wealthy people don’t only focus on expense cutting; you should grow your revenues to a point where your basic expenses are taken care of, you can invest in your company, and you have money to take out and pay your self first on a monthly basis.

So, as a dental marketing online adviser, I advise you to follow these final steps (as well as the first three steps in our previous article), and if you do… you will be able to become successful and become rich in your business as well!

I’ve been receiving this question from my clients: “What choice would be better? Should I go for dental marketing online, or dental marketing offline?” My answer to this question is both and/or neither. It would be your choice if you go for either online or offline dental marketing. These dental marketing strategies have their own advantages. Be it online or offline dental marketing, you have the choice. In this article I would discuss to you the benefits of such dental marketing strategies.

Dental Marketing Online :

The way I see it for the next three years, the big possibility is that dental patients would go for dental marketing online, where they will get in touch with their dentists through the Internet. Let’s estimate that to around 80% of the patients reaching and finding their dentists through the World Wide Web. Think about this. If you throw a question to around 100 people, asking them where they would get their directions, research information and choose new service provider, roughly around 80 to 90 of them would say “I just had to google it”. Why? Going online would spare them the time going from one location to another. Let’s say, for example, if a person would like to see the latest version of a certain cellphone. Wouldn’t it be much easier for him to just go and check it out in the Internet in the comfort of his own home, rather than go to his local shop a few miles away? This would save him time and energy. This is just like dental marketing online. It would be much easier for dental patients to reach their respective dentists on the Internet. This would save them the time and energy that they would need to go from their home to their dentist’s office. It just takes a click of a button to reach their dentist!

Dental Marketing Offline :

As it is with dental marketing online, dental marketing offline has its advantages as well. The traditional way of reaching people still works for dental marketing. As for my case, I love to go for free standing inserts. It is one of the best, most affordable, cost effective ways to do external dental marketing. You can target ideal and potential patients, niche or target out your insert, or give an attractive offer to them straight to your office. You can also choose direct mailing. People will always have there mail boxes available, waiting for any mail to come to their residences. There is a diminishing number of people reading the daily newspapers, listening to their radios, and viewing their television sets. But not with direct mailing. People still continue to wait for their messages in their traditional mail boxes, and that will never go away.

Conclusion:

The advantages of both the dental marketing online and dental marketing offline having been discussed, it still is a matter of personal choice for the dental marketer. You can go online, or go offline. But take into consideration that it would always differ depending on the area where you live, the advertising rates, and the responsiveness of the area. “Test” to find out which one of these strategies works best. You see, dental marketing involves a lot of testing, but it’s still the best way that you can reach your goals of increasing your income rates. Remember, the choice is yours!
